cooperation in a divided world...??

Can Cooperation succeed in a Divided World?
Cooperation, defined as the “process of working or acting together, involves things working in harmony, side by side, while in its more complicated forms, it can involve something as complex as the inner workings of a human being or even the social patterns of a nation. It is the alternative to working separately in competition.”Pause for a second, can we actually look for this ideal Cooperative world where all the different nations, with different religions, different climatic conditions, different cultures can all join hands with each other and while US wants to shoot at Pakistan for harboring the terrorists, Pakistan itself would shoot all the terrorists because it’s more of a worlds concern!!
Cooperation needs to be based on few grounds like a common goal; common problem to be solved, common objective and making all the nations unite sounds foolish as which basis are you expecting a cooperation? While countries like Africa, Bangladesh are fighting for food, we see 50% of the Americans are obese. And when we have a cooperated world, there will be one leader for the whole one world, so won’t there be a fight for that ultimate power of ruling the World feeling like God and history has enough of such dictators who wanted all the power to themselves, then how long do we expect this COOPERATION to last while a few nations are willing to surrender since they never were powerful while the powerful ones fight to become the super powerful. Expecting a world full of smiles and love, everywhere all around, well, I think that will be too much of expectation on planet Earth! Let us unite in the name of cooperation in fighting things that are a threat for all nations in Catalyzing an energy revolution, Defending our oceans Protecting the world’s ancient forests and the animals, plants and people that depend on them, Working for disarmament and peace , Creating a toxic free future and Campaigning for all the issues concerning the whole world and also to protect all that belongs to the world.

We imagine having cooperation amongst the nations who knew that their fathers and grandfathers were made slaves by the Americans, that their women were sexually abused as a source of entertainment because they are “Black”. We expect to love the nations that want a share of our country even though we never made a noise, we expect the Jews to forget how they were treated in Russia and Germany while the whole community of thousands of them were just wiped off. Of course to a certain limit we can forget and forgive, the way there are no grudges against the British or the Portugals that also made us their slaves, but when they start with racism, we bearing in silence may sound pretty preachy because deep inside a human’s heart, it is very difficult. Just the way a wound can heal, but the scar always remains. And when we expect the cooperation, it needs to be mutual else it becomes a domination for the other powerful group. Along with cooperation don’t we expect transparency to avoid conflicts and for the smooth functioning, but is it practically possible to that core team to think of the Whole World as one, and many a times it is really an impossible state to keep everyone happy, we all face this in our personal lives too, but this will again invite groups with similar interests and problems and again this doesn’t appear to be a prolonged idea to keep the whole world united as ONE. While each and every nation individually has their own issues and demands, we just can’t hope to generalize them all completely. Of course few issues like Global Warming and terrorism can be looked at with a concern for all the nations and we can expect few issues to be dealt with as a matter of concern and implement the measures to solve them by the cooperation, but expecting to provide a world citizenship to everyone, where will the sense of Nationality go then? What about holding on to your culture which I would call a culture crisis that India is facing today in an effort of being westernized while our own children don’t know how to speak in their mother tongues and don’t know what rituals mean!
Lets us look practically and may be an effort can be made to give helping hands to each other in all times of turmoil and while the stronger nations can support, while the others can also help in their little measures. Expecting some form of unity to solve the global issues is still believable and I think this sort of cooperation should be encouraged and even in the form of Education, trade etc. to liberate the thoughts.
May be thinking of ways of decreasing the speed at which the world is dividing is more important for the present time than thinking of Cooperation, but there needs to be a tolerance level and the nations should seek for negotiations than revenge and bombs. Let there be humanity all over the world, then can we expect a better place to live in, than seeking for some imaginary fairy world of Cooperation where even after the terrible wars around, we all expect Cooperation and things to just end all out of a sudden in terms of violence and we see all nations hugging each other staying as One.

REASONS FOR SERVICE SECTORS THRIVING IN INDIA!

The service sector consists of the "soft" parts of the economy such as insurance, government, tourism, banking, retail, education, and social services, Consulting Business services, IT/ITes, Tourism, Transport & Storage, Healthcare/hospitals, Real estate etc. India’s service sector is larger and growing faster than that of economies with higher percapita GDP. Rapidly increasing two-way trade in information technology enabled services (IT–ITES) and other high-end services sub-sectors has been a critical factor in India’s improved economic performance.
The reasons for these servicing sectors thriving today include the large pool of engineering talent facilitating the rapidly expanding telecommunications sector and also IT–ITES that require immense dedication in technology and India is known worldwide for its efficient, versatile and innovative engineers.
The banking industry has undergone profound changes of consolidation, spread of electronic banking and increased freedom to combine banking with other financial services. The emerging environment highlights challenges of intensified competition, increased business complexities, profitability, meeting up customer expectations and increasing employee productivity. This flexibility and competition compels the sector to continue improving to furnish the needs of the millions of people and with the booming industrial sector, the service sections enjoy a great response.
The growth in earnings from trade, hotels and restaurants or, for that matter, from financing, insurance, real estate and business can be sustained only if industrial income grows proportionately to support their prosperity. The good performance of the industrial sector thus, has not only improved its own share in GDP but has paved the way for a sustained service sector growth too It is basically this boom that is facilitating the real progress and scope for the Service sections and with efficient employees and cheap labor, Business Outsourcing has become another major contribution in helping these sections thrive. With the efficiency and perseverance of the Indians, and the effective communication skills make Indians preferred in the service sections and a large proportion of Business comes from the Multinational companies who prefer India as a preferred destination because of the quality of output at a very low investment. Our Hospitality too is deeply admired and with Tourism booming with the Globalization, the sector is attaining tremendous denotation and due to the heavy competitions, the quality and standards are improving appreciably. People from The United States of America prefer coming to India for their health treatment because of the comfortable ambience and because of the cheaper treatments that may be as less as about 5 to 7 times cheaper and unlike the Canadians who have to wait for days for a small treatment, Indians waste no time in too much of formalities. Thus along with the advanced technological systems, dedicated medical professionals and our warm hospitality for the millions of people both in our nation, our underdeveloped neighboring nations and even for the developed nations, India is ready to suffice them all with no compromise with quality and thus enabling this section to maintain a notable growth curve.
The growth pattern of industry indeed, suggests that the industries can maintain its growth trend and so will the service sector continue to thrive successfully continuing to empower Indians for what they are making India a brand name irrespective of the service sector while each and every individual contributes in his own means to make India known for its quality service and its efficiency thus being trusted worldwide in the service sector.

Sources of funding in an established business

study of the various sources of funding in an established Business
An established Business faces lesser problems compared to the startup companies who have to struggle and haggle behind every possible person and loan for an investment since the first thing to start a Business is “Money”. With the convenience of getting credit from raw material suppliers, the Established Business firms enjoy a good relationship with the raw material providers who are ready to collect the payment later, another major difference when compared to start-ups who need to have a hold to gain that faith.
Similarly, the banks also apply the same concept of providing loans without much of fuss as their trust is regained by these already successfully exisiting firms, who otherwise ask for a proper Business plan and the amount provided by the loans also have a great difference when compared to that of start ups.
Private banking, the term for banking, investment and other financial services are provided by banks to private individuals investing sizable assets. The term "private" refers to the customer service being rendered on a more personal basis than in mass-market retail banking, usually via dedicated bank advisers. These are gaining a lot of impetus with the Industrial sector growing and with the improvement of the bank services due to the immense competitions. The banks can furnish with all the desired loans at reasonable rates to these established Business firms.
Numerous Private Financial institutes also are easing the financial needs of the Enterprises and the financial institutions and their borrowers manage asset/liability risks and objectives. Private finance initiatives were originally started as part of the British government’s strategy for providing high quality services. A PFI is used when it meets certain requirements and presents a clear value for money and does not surrender any terms or conditions of the workforce. The Financial Institutions are owned by Private Parties. Various such institutions like HDFC, Muthoot Pappachan Group, Citi Group,Export Import Bank of India - Exim BankIndustrial Development Bank of India -IDBI , Industrial Finance Corporation of India - IFCI, Life Insurance Corporation of India - LIC, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development - NABARD,National Housing Bank - NHB, Power Finance Corporation Limited, Small Industries Development Bank of India - SIDBI, Securities Trading Corporation of India Limited - STCI, Unit Trust of India - UTI .These institutions are owned and managed by private people. These Financial Institutions also provide good financial services to common man. Few banks like HDFC (Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited) offer specialized financial services to their customers through partnerships with some of best financial institutions worldwide.
Money market is another very commonly funding source for the established firms. It is the global financial market for short-term borrowing and lending. It provides short-term liquidity funding and consists of financial institutions and dealers in money or credit who wish to either borrow or lend. Participants borrow and lend for short periods of time, typically up to thirteen months. Money market trades in short-term financial instruments commonly called "paper." This contrasts with the capital market for longer-term funding, which is supplied by bonds and equity.
Equity finance is a way of raising share capital from external investors in return for handing over a share of the business. This may take many forms, including a share of future profits, but is most frequently associated with sharing the ownership of the business to some degree. The two main providers of equity finance for private businesses are venture capitalists - also known as private equity firms - and business angels.
A stock market (stocks) is widely relied on for the purpose of funds required by the Entrepreneurs. Equity market or stock market is a private or public market for the trading of company stock and derivatives of company stock at an agreed price; these are securities listed on a stock exchange as well as those only traded privately. The stock market is one of the most important sources for companies to raise money. This allows businesses to be publicly traded, or raise additional capital for expansion by selling shares of ownership of the company in a public market. The liquidity that an exchange provides affords investors the ability to quickly and easily sell securities. This is an attractive feature of investing in stocks, compared to other less liquid investments such as real estate.
Another reliable and helpful source is investing from an Open market, that are the means of implementing monetary policy by which a central bank controls its national money supply by buying and selling government securities, or other financial instruments. Monetary targets, such as interest rates or exchange rates, are used to guide this implementation. An open Marekt in the local terminology also means collecting funds from people around and paying them an agreed rate of interest.
Business cash advance is based on the business’ future sales and the business cash advance provider bears the bulk of the risk in the transaction and thus demands a fee for doing this. In order for the provider to make sure that they maintain cash flow, they have certain criteria in order for a business to qualify for a cash advance loan. While the requirements for a merchant cash advance are not as stringent as those for a bank loan, some providers may require additional, specific qualifications but the existing Business firms donot face much of problems as the provider only recoups its costs if the established business is able to remain functioning and profitable, so it needs to evaluate whether or not buying your future sales will pay off.
With so many convenient options, the Established Business can invest and reinvest and that’s the key to development. With both private and Government initiatives, the sources of funding with time are proving to be much convenient and beneficial while the other party who provides money enjoys a good income too. These days the Established Business firms actually don’t have to worry about funds, while they have so many options, they just need to choose the best option.

Advertisement is that mantra that drives the customers to go for the product and this has become such an integral part of any product that Brands are ready to spend millions just to advertise their product and it is actually not funny to notice every little place of public interest to be flooded with advertisements, so much that even the “No Parking” boards at houses have an advertisement running along with it.
We are all aware of the difference the favorite old Television makes in the world of Advertisement but with changing times, we see more of ads on Television than any program and fortunately we can admire the intellect in those ads even if it’s been some minutes of just watching ads. Other modes that are gaining momentum include Radios that have become an addiction to people belonging to all professions and for all the students too. Radio stations with specificity of playing a certain genre are able to catch the right crowd. For example, FM 91.1 plays rock bands in the evenings, so rather than advertising more on the local channels; the upcoming rock band would prefer advertising in that Radio station since the customers are all filtered there. All rock lovers have tuned into that station, so what is a better place than advertising through a favorite RJ about any Rock band that is going to perform.
The Print industry too has become a great mode for advertisement especially in the newspapers; magazines etc with flamboyant and pretty models making the pictures worth a look at and then attain the attention of the people. The visual effects really do wonders as any product can catch attention if its advertisement is interesting and out of the box, and seeing an advertisement again and again will drive the customer to at least try it once and then up goes the sales. The makeup industry are appealing to a lot of women with their rich advertisements and international models especially in feminist magazines like Femina where women spend hours just admiring the makeup products. Cost then becomes secondary as every body gets convinced by say for an example, “L’Oreal- Because you are worth it”!! Now which woman can feel she is not worth it??
Another very common mode is the Electronic mode, with those attractive advertisements as soon as you open any website. Few even pop up before you realize and the flashing colors do grab the attention and interestingly the words like FREE and WON!! Are never left unnoticed and many customers happen to check the new Product, thus enabling the Company’s Success of gaining customers.
Mobile phones were introduced in Japan in 1997 but became a mass media only in 1998 when the first downloadable ringing tones were introduced in Finland. Soon most forms of media content were introduced on mobile phones, and today the total value of media consumed on mobile towers over that of internet content, and was worth over billions of dollars. Any new offer, any party happening or any sale going In your favorite shop, its all in your inbox even if they are annoying, but they do their duty by spreading the information and this trend is catching up at a very rapid pace because almost every individual can be reached through mobile phones. The Major brands, for example MANGO keep their customers satisfied and impressed by the personalized messages that reach the customer’s inbox about the launch of a new collection or the sale that hits the market, and what advantages the customer can have thus promoting their sales to all their regular customers and thus improving their business just by a little Text Message!
Apart from these modes, we have also noticed the advertisements on wheels, where we see a trailer and even auto rickshaws flaunting the hoardings as they pass by you and you just can’t ignore those beaming advertisements in front of you while you are in the traffic jams or at the signals. Many telecom companies have been noticed to initiate this in the Volvos that run in the city and the onlookers definitely get the message about the product while these busses flood the bus stops and the city. Other enthralling modes of advertisements that are gradually adding on to the modes of advertisements include the Hot air balloons displaying the brand and with their colorful and huge size no eyes miss those advertisements. The huge banners that we first saw as kids in the cartoons like Talespin also are becoming increasingly popular that can be spotted from far distances. The basic impetus to grab the attention of the customers in very important with so much of competition and Advertisements are one major hot arm of any product that wishes to sell no matter how good the product is!

What are the changes India needs to bring about to become a developed country. Where is it lagging behind? Why is it still a developing country?

India a country with magnificent scientists, may it be rocket science or robotics, biotechnology or agriculture, while economists are reaching for the international standards,Bapu’s (Gandhi's) economic strategies are looked forward to implement the ages old reforms that the Mahatma had envisioned. Despite all these technological advancement, the strong economists like Manmohan Singh, our scientists choose to flood in the United States boosting their economy, because of lack of facilities, while India continues to be a “Developing Nation”. We are rich in resources, we comprise the most intelligent group of people, we possess a rich culture, the Mahabharata also incorporates the management Gimmicks, we actually lack nothing to stay in this position of “Developing Nation” since ages while we remain stagnant, but I believe it’s a deep root that needs to be traced.
Starting from the leaders of our nations- our outstanding politicians who are majorly a gang of criminals( more than 50% of them have criminal records), then we can imagine how our country is being run. While MNCs are busy filling in pockets of the young generation, especially in the IT sector, the youth chooses to lead a lavish and secure life than enter into politics as a responsibility or try make a difference because the corruption level has reached beyond imagination, so we really don’t know how and where to start, so better ignore. Thus we are with a few old fashioned leaders, who don’t understand the change in time and the need to change the ideologies. While we proclaim to be secular, we have riots in every corner. We have some Senas who focus on banning Valentine’s day saying Christians have no place in our culture, now who is looking for their moral policing, while they are all busy abusing people, even the women and are confident since they are backed by the Politicians. If our politicians are busy addressing such issues, then who will take care of domestic abuse of women that still is kept under covers, especially in states like Rajasthan, Bihar, Orissa where women are born to suffer and any lower caste woman is miserably beaten up, stripped off in front of public, while the Police discourages them from entering a FIR. This is what our police is good for. We have naxalites bombing, group of anti- muslims, anti- Tamils, anti this and anti that, springing up from all sides, while the people in North east are demanding for their individual identity crying out, “we are Nagas by birth, Indians by accident”, can we ever imagine of working together. Only when we are united can we expect some changes. While the farmers are sleeping with a hungry stomach and committing suicide, while other than a handful kids in the villages, none of them actually know what Education is, while many can’t afford to finish their 10th standards and are forced to child labor, we expect them all to contribute to our Nation’s Development??
Let us look at the northeastern region has a rural population of around 82 per cent and they depend largely on agriculture and allied sectors for work and income security. The region is culturally diverse, 225 of India’s 450 tribes live here. But do we really consider them as our brothers, rather they are more of Chinese or Nepali to us. In spite of the richness of culture and bio resources, there is much poverty and unemployment. In spite of an average annual rainfall of over 2000 mm, water shortage during December-May is serious, even in The Cherrapunjee region (now known as Sohra) in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya faces scarcity during December-April though the annual rainfall exceeds 12,000 mm. Sohra lies atop a limestone plateau and limestone sucks in the water. The only solution is to hold rainwater, but there is no attention given to these so called;”forest people” and Government expects them to find a way out. The north east lies neglected so far as funds and initiatives for Research and Development is concerned. While the central Government, and the national leaders were busy addressing the broader economic concerns, giving shape to the country’s foreign policy and grappling with the nitty-gritty’s of administering the nation ever since Independence to “Build” the nation, these group of people are completely isolated on the end who have no one to listen to their voices, just because they are a rich set of tribes?
Such regions can be worked on by the focus on building of Biovillages: The biovillage paradigm involves concurrent attention to the conservation and enhancement of the ecological foundations for sustainable agriculture; enhancing the productivity and profitability of small holdings, and generation of multiple livelihood opportunities through crop-livestock-fish integration, biomass utilisation, and agro-processing.
Bioparks: These are designed to add value to plant and animal biomass through agro-processing and preparation of a wide range of market-linked products.
Biovalleys: The aim is to promote along a watershed small-scale enterprises supported by microcredit and to link biodiversity, biotechnology and business in a mutually reinforcing manner. The biotechnology enterprises relate to the production and marketing of biological software essential for sustainable agriculture, such as biofertilizers, biopesticides, and vermiculture.
India has everything to make it a superpower but it lacks committed people. We may be confessed by saying the development in IT field and space activities. These developments will increase the pride of our nation among international communities but won't fill the stomach of the masses who are still below the poverty line. We should attain the growth universally not by indicating one or two areas. Our Government, politicians and people should work hard to narrow down the gap between rich and poor. There won't be any progress without giving attention to socio-economic imbalances. Economic imbalance is one of the causes for extremism. Extremists are not born but produced. We are not paying any attention to eradicate this but we are busy in air-conditioning the resting places of place of worship and repairing the temple cars for the car festival and deepening the temple tank for floating festival when the country is floating on economic strains. There are no sanitation facilities for the villagers, no health facilities, no proper schools, but we are all busy in our own selfish issues and just pitying the sites of those in ruthless conditions.
It’s very easy to push the blame on others, especially the politicians, but how many of the the professional students are having a major responsibility to make India a developed country (like Engineers are called the builders of the nation)? Are we too not responsible in contributing to the development? The day all of us stand united, then can we start to hope to move on from this long stagnant phase of “Developing” to approach towards “development.”
